No matter where you sell real estate, whether it's on the east coast or west coast, everyone has the same question for you as a real estate professional.  “So, how's the market?”  I actually love when people ask me this question because it allows me to give them current and accurate information that makes me appear as the expert in their eyes.  Basically, it allows me to shine and to prove to them why I would be their best choice if they happened to be in the market to buy or sell.  Therefore, I try to think very carefully before I respond to this question.

In the Charlotte area, which is the area that I live and work, the market is still relatively good with an average days on market of about 124 days.  Things are a little slow right now, but that's normal this time of the year.  However, even if the market were extremely bad, I would want to share something positive with them, while at the same time being truthful.

Usually, the DOM's are the first thing people want to hear about when they ask this question.  Of course, current interest rates, incentives builders are offering, and % of list price received are also at the top of the list for inquiring minds.  I really want to be the one to enlighten people on the local market, whether it be good or bad, because I want them to come to me whenever they think of real estate.

What other information do you like to provide people with when they ask the famous question, “So, how's the market?”
